Level 2 ASP work most electricians can't do

We're completing our Level 2 Accredited Service Provider sign-off. Once live, MCP will carry out work directly on the network's side of the meter — new connections, meter alterations, and overhead-to-underground conversions that a standard electrical licence doesn't cover.

Level 2 ASP Work

What Level 2 ASP accreditation will cover

Most electrical work stops at your meter box — anything on the network's side (the service line, the point of attachment, the meter itself) legally requires Level 2 accreditation. This is common for new builds, renovations changing the supply point, or meter relocations. Register your interest now and we'll be in touch as soon as we're accredited and taking bookings.
  • New electricity connections for new builds or subdivisions
  • Upgraded supply capacity (e.g. single-phase to three-phase)
  • Meter box relocations and alterations
  • Overhead-to-underground service conversions
  • Liaison directly with the network distributor on your behalf

FAQs

Common questions

What's the difference between a normal electrician and a Level 2 ASP?+
A standard electrical licence covers everything from your meter box inward. Level 2 accreditation extends that to the network side — the service line and point of connection — which otherwise only the network distributor can touch.
Is this service available now?+
Not yet — we're completing our Level 2 accreditation. Register your interest via the contact form or give us a call, and we'll reach out as soon as we're taking Level 2 bookings.
Do I need Level 2 work for a new EV charger or solar?+
Usually not, unless your existing supply capacity needs upgrading (e.g. moving from single to three-phase) to support it — in which case, yes, this is exactly the work involved.
Do you handle this for builders and subdivisions, not just single homes?+
That's the plan once accredited — new build and subdivision connections will be a core part of this service.
