What counts as an electrical emergency

Not every electrical issue is urgent, and we'd rather tell you honestly than charge an emergency rate you didn't need. As a general guide, call immediately for anything involving sparks, burning smells, exposed wiring, or a total loss of power — these get priority over routine bookings.

Common questions

Is this a 24/7 emergency service?+
We prioritise urgent calls during and around business hours and respond as fast as possible outside them. Call us directly — if we can't take the job immediately we'll tell you honestly and point you to what to do in the meantime.
What should I do while I wait for the electrician?+
If it's safe to do so, switch off the main switch at your switchboard. Don't touch exposed wiring, standing water near electrics, or attempt repairs yourself — call us and we'll talk you through safe next steps.
How much does an emergency callout cost?+
It depends on the time of day, the issue and how much work is involved — we'll always tell you the callout basis before we come out, so there's no surprise.
My switchboard keeps tripping — is that an emergency?+
A one-off trip usually isn't urgent. Repeated trips within a short window, especially with no obvious cause, are worth an urgent call — it often points to a fault that's getting worse.
